David Lindberg, NatWest | FinTech Finance
David Lindberg was appointed CEO of Retail Banking for Natwest Group in September 2020. In this role, David is responsible for serving 17 million customers across Natwest, RBS, Ulster Bank, and Holts. In July 2023, He was also given responsibility for NatWest Group Payments businesses and appointed Chairman of Boxed Ltd, a leading technology and BAAS business. Prior to this role, David Lindberg was the Chief Executive for the Consumer Division of Westpac Group, responsible for 11 million customers across Westpac, St.George, BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, BT, and RAMS. As a part of this role, David was also the CEO of the four Westpac Group Insurance Businesses. Prior to this appointment, He was the Chief Executive, Commercial and Business Bank at Westpac Group, managing the Group’s Business and Commercial customers for Westpac, St.George, BankSA, and Bank of Melbourne. In addition, David Lindberg managed the Group’s Agriculture businesses. He also ran the Group’s auto finance business under the Capital Finance brand. In this role, David managed relationships for 1 in 2 businesses in Australia. Prior to this appointment, David Lindberg was Westpac’s Chief Product and Digital Officer, responsible for the Group's retail and business products and digital platforms. This role included overall group responsibility for analytics and transformation. Before joining Westpac, He was Executive General Manager, Cards, Payments & Retail Strategy at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He was also formerly Managing Director, Marketing and Strategy for ANZ Banking Group and before this Vice President for First Manhattan Consulting Group, based in New York. Originally Canadian, David Lindberg now lives in London.
