About Steve Munford

Steve Munford is an accomplished leader in security and enterprise software with extensive experience in leading companies through rapid growth. He most recently served as interim CEO at Carbonite in 2019, where he led the company through its sale to OpenText. In 2018 he was the interim CEO at Absolute Software, which he led through a restructuring and recruited a permanent CEO. Previously, Steve was CEO at Sophos from 2006 to 2012 and, during that time, led the company through a period of significant growth, more than tripling bookings. Sophos sold to the private equity group Apax in 2010 and then to Thoma Bravo in 2020. Prior to his role as CEO, Steve was President of ActiveState before its acquisition by Sophos in 2003. Under his leadership, ActiveState established itself as a global leader in email security software. He is deeply engaged with product vision and execution, and his commitment to high standards has helped him lead companies to realize their maximum potential. Steve is active in the community as a board member at Covenant House, a development committee member for Social Venture Partners and a member of the Science World Advisory Council. Steve Munford currently serves as President and CEO of Trulioo, a leading global identity and business verification provider specializing in anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) compliance.  Under his leadership, Trulioo raised a $400M Series D financing led by TCV in 2021, and was recognized as a 2020 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.
