About Richard Moore

Richard is Co-Head of New Investments at the award winning EIS and VCT fund manager, Calculus Capital. At Calculus Richard is responsible for the sourcing and negotiating of new investment opportunities, managing portfolio companies and arranging successful exits. Through his role at Calculus Richard is a non-executive Director of ActiveOps, Avvio, IPV and Cloudtrade. Prior to joining Calculus Richard worked in the investment banking divisions of Citigroup, JPMorgan and Strata. Richard worked as an investment banker for 14 years, advising on M&A transactions and equity capital raisings, primarily for technology companies. Before moving into investment banking in the late 1990s, Richard qualified as a chartered accountant (ICAEW) with KPMG in London. Calculus Capital Calculus Capital launched its first fund in 1999, bringing to market the first approved Enterprise Investment Scheme fund. Since then Calculus has built a strong reputation as an investor and fund manager, winning a number of awards for its funds. Calculus funds are structured to manage risk and preserve capital as well as benefit from capital appreciation. This is achieved by primarily targeting established and more mature companies with greater predictability of cash flow and revenues as well as healthier balance sheets. The approach can be best described as investing in real companies with real products, real markets and real prospects.
