About Richard Chattock

Richard Chattock, Experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of building businesses in the (re)insurance and venture capital industries. Skilled in Strategy, Enterprise Risk Management, Reinsurance, and Venture Investment. A strong progressive business development professional and team builder. Richard has 30 years insurance and reinsurance experience in London, Brussels and Bermuda. After serving as CEO for the Montpelier Syndicate, he has now turned his attention to the next generation of insurance businesses. With an extensive network and deep industry knowledge, Richard is able to support Insurtech Gateway’s founders build new products in uncharted territories. Richard Chattock, starting as an Underwriter at UNAT Re. Richard then moved to AXA Re as a Senior Underwriter in 1990, followed by a Manager position at Cox Syndicate Management in 1994.  In 2018, they became a Non Executive Director at Coincover. In 2019, they became a Non Executive Director at Humn and GUARDHOG, and in 2021 they became a Non Executive Director at Loadsure. In 2022, they became a Non Executive Director at TransRe London Limited. Richard Chattock attended the University of Reading from 1982 to 1985, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Mathematics.
