Mark Williamson is the Managing Director at HSBC. With over 30 years of experience in banking and finance, Mark has a diverse background in trading, operations, and technology. He has led successful transformation programs across various domains and has been instrumental in the development of several Tier 1 Bank’s Single and Multi-Dealer platforms. Mark Williamson has pioneered innovative projects such as the launch of FX Everywhere, a DLT solution for Post FX Trade Payment vs Payment, and has been actively involved in CBDC FX engagement with numerous Central Banks. Currently, he is responsible for assessing and implementing Digital technologies, focusing on Cash, Capital, and Collateral, and overseeing their impacts on Risk, Liquidity, Operations, and Technology within the Foreign Exchange and Commodities business. Mark’s role is to assess the use of the ABCDE (AI, Blockchain, Cloud Data and Ecosystems) across various existing, new and emerging Digital Currencies, Assets and Markets.
